Sheri Gomez is a from Louisiana. She began playing clarinet in the 4th grad and switched to saxophone in the 7th grade. Her jazz roots grew in summer camp and the rest is history. She studied with jazz educator Gary Campbell at FIU and was the first woman to play in the University of Miami Concert Jazz Band. She worked with several Latin groups in Miami’s top Latin clubs. For 6 years, she appeared at Stefano’s on Key Biscayne. Often, she works with her husband pianist Felix Gomez, Valerie Z & Paris, Peter Graves and singer Allan Harris. Sheri teaches K through 5, at Miami Heights Elementary and plays in the Dade County Schools Jazz Ensemble.
