Jazz is more than a musical style; it is an oral tradition, a record of our experience through the twentieth century and into the twenty-first. With piano accompaniment, Joan Cartwright brings her knowledge of jazz to the stage as she sings standards made popular by Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Betty Carter and others, as well as her own compositions.
