Philly Joe was the first musician to take Joan Cartwright "on the road." They played at the "Back Door" in Baltimore with Shirley Scott on piano, Arthur Harper on bass and Sonny Stitt on saxophone.

Carolyn is an unknown pianist who developed chops through her association with Horace Silver. Trudi Pitts is an organist extraordinaire who lives in Philly and dominates the jazz scene, performing with her drummer husband, Mr. C and her scatting son, P.C.
