Born in California, Denise Mininfield first started playing flute and then her music teacher, Phill Hardyman, heard something in her speaking voice and had her sing a few notes. From then on, she has been singing. She contiuned playing flute but became more interested in voice. She took private music lessons and voice classes in school. During her career, she's sung everything from Soul to Pop to R&B to Blues and Jazz.

Denise began performing with various groups in the area. She had the opportunity to work with very great musicians like Herbert Mims, Eddie Hotlen, Bill Summer, Sheila E, Rodney Franklin, Wes Anderson, Marcus Pintup, Walter Blancer, Lloyd Gregory, Gary Calvin, Tambro, Myron Pipkin, Eddie M., Jennie Tracy, Troy Lipkin, Bill (Shoe) Johnson, Jeff Chin, Bonnie Boyer, and host of many others. Currently, she live in Singapore and works all over Asia. In Spring 2007, Denise performed at CJW Clubs in Shanghai. Her new CD is in the process of being released.
