SPRING
IS HERE!
APRIL is the month that ever brings us back to our personal relation with the Creator. Trees and plants are blooming and so is the air, booming with birds twittering and calling in caws to each other and the warm sun grows brighter as the days proceed. It's renewal time and the Earth never tires of bringing forth the fruits of her yearlong labors. Clouds in the sky float along waving to the trees blowing in the spring air. It's so joyous to be alive in Spring. I'm a romping child at the top of a hill, grazing for energy and ideas that fill me up with the will to play, run, jump and live in this joy. Trials are the things that make Spring worth it. A rough time, like Winter, can really make you enjoy the ease and promise of Spring. That's what I believe. Winter is the time when we are challenged to change, divest, detach from our needy selves. Spring is when we are renewed by Spirit in Nature that calls us to the fun and games of Summer. Whew! This is a Holy Moment when I AM filled with the joy of being joyful, with the gratitude of being joyful. I've learned there are no trials bigger than the joy of Spring. Guess that's why Charlie Parker wrote the song "Joy Spring"!

Conscious gratitude,
affirmation of gratitude is
the necessary ingredient for success.
Building a house takes the help of the Spirit of the ancestors. Grandfather, the late Christopher Cartwright and his widow, Frances (96) inspire me, daily, to get the job done! For the past five years, it's been my wish to own a home. Grandfather's estate is in my hands and I'm grateful for the opportunity to help my grandmother, to share her stories of the last century, to see that she is happy in her last years, here on Earth. She is a joy! She's funny and full of laughter and this is such a blessing for me. Youth, today, misses the opportunity to learn from the elderly. This is important and I AM reeling from the spin on life my grandmother gives me, continually. This is my blessing and I intend to bask in the sunlight of it this Spring and for seasons to come. KINDNESS The first step toward a kind nature is being good to yourself. "Self preservation is the first law." That's what my mother always said. "Cleanliness is next to Godliness" is another one of my mother's favorite adage. I've lived by these proverbs for years now. And I find them to be true. Here's why! I AM a temple of the living Spirit. I AM a vessel of Creative Power. I AM a Spirit having a Human experience. I AM in need of receiving and giving Love. Love is being kind to others. I AM the progenitor of Love as it flows from the Spiritual Being that I AM toward the multiple incarnations of the remaining Spirit of the Universe. I find that when I concentrate on the talents that I have to reap monetary gain in the world and when I organize my surroundings in a neat and clean manner, I AM able to effect change and receive sufficient money to exchange for the things I need to live comfortably. I AM able to be fair in my exchange and I AM able to treat everyone around me in a kind manner. "Be kind unto others as you would have them be kind to you!" Substitute the "Do" with "Be kind" and the Golden Rule becomes a little more pointed. Have you asked yourself the question "How do I want to be treated by others?" If you do this often enough you will come to the conclusion that you want others to treat you well. Well, this requires the same giving on your part. Giving is a reciprocal event that sends a message to the Universe that there's room in your life for something more to come in. You've given of yourself and the World gives to you. The philosophy is an old one. The oldest, perhaps. But look at it from the point of view of science - "What goes around, comes around." As I disperse my Love and Kindness, the Universe returns those things to me. Life is constantly replenishing itself with Energy. When my Energy is loving and kind the only return to me can be loving kindness. This leads me to Joy and, naturally, back to Spring! Photos used with the permission of Joern Rennhackj. speaks of annual renewal. Even if you've had a very hard Winter, the bright
sunshine and cool breezes of

that, once you've acquired it, you are on the road to exalted progress as a
Human Being. As co-Creators with the Universe, we humans have the
opportunity to use our minds to create peace and harmony on Earth. Gratitude
is the necessary ingredient for success. Move to the next level. Simply
recognize the blessings you have, already. Home is a blessing. Work and
talent are blessings. Family, old and young, are blessings. Friends,
acquaintances, people unknown are blessing us each and every day. By
self-examination, self-knowing and self-determination, we increase these
blessings emanating from us toward others and flowing in the opposite
direction toward us.
See
the blessing in Nature - beautiful trees, flowers, blue skies, soft
winds, shimmering lakes. See the blessings right before your
very own eyes. Then, appreciate the unseen blessings bestowed
upon us, daily.
